Our Farm Our Family The Eyres family has farmed Abertanat for the last 60 years. Robert, Rena and their two eldest sons Stuart and Ryan manage a herd of 150 Holstein/Fresian cows in a traditional manner on the western edge of Shropshire. Our Farm Abertanat is situated at the mouth of the river Tanat. This is the Welsh Marches region and the herd crosses the border between England and Wales daily as they graze the lush pastureland alongside the river Tanat. We milk 150 Holstein/Friesian cows and their fresh milk is piped directly into our new purpose built cheese dairy. Hygiene is important to us, whether it be in the milking parlour or the cheese dairy. We are in control at all times i.e from our cow grazing the fields to her milk production. We carefully turn her milk into beautiful handmade cheese which gives us great pride.
